Notes | - Date attributed on some stylistic grounds. However, Citadel Hill does not show any fortifications (first established 17549) although batteries are shown on George Island (Fort Charlotte was built 1750).
- Sounding depths are given.
- Relief is shown by shading.
- No units are given for the scale at lower right - is shows only "ECHELLE DE 2853". Previous British Library cataloguing assumed "1853 pas geometriques". 2853 toises seems more likely (scale approximately 1:55,000)?
- Shows title at lower right with descriptive navigational directions (in French) beneath.
- Names "Portsmouths" instead of Dartmouth.
- Names "Fort St Jerome" for Fort Sackville (established 1749).
- Copy at Add Ms 57,702.3. Bound in R.U.S.I. Vol LXVII. Shows manuscript addition of "3" in pencil at upper right. Shows manuscript addition in pencil of "A40" in pencil at lower right. White label to verso showing "DRAWER 28 SECTION 1". Additional manuscript addition in pencil to verso showing "A" above a blue label showing "A 28/71". A further manuscript addition in pencil to verso shows "15". Paper watermark shows "IV"?
