Notes | - Shows the northern quadrant of the United States from east of the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean.
- Title within an oval cartouche formed by a design of interlocking leafy spirals threaded with a beaded chain. Statement of responsibility is lettered below and on either side of the cartouche.
- Black ink is used for inscriptions, place names, latitude and longitude, borders and the principal elements of the cartouche. Black ink wash is used to decorate the cartouche and to indicate mountain ranges. Red ink is used for inscriptions indicating the territories of the Indian tribes, the location of their villages, and estimates of their numbers. Blue watercolor is used to define the lakes, rivers and ocean. On cream wove paper.
